¶ Thanne seide he thus to palamon the knyght
I trow ther nedyth litel sermonyng
To make yow assenten to this thing
Com ner and take your lady by the hond

Bitwix hem was made anon the bond
That hight matrimonye or mariage
By al the conseil and the baronage
¶ And thus wyth al blis and melodye
Hath palamon y wedded Emelye

And god that al this world hath wroght
Send him his loue that hath it dere boght
For now is palamon in al wele
Lyuyng in blis in ryches and in hele
And Emelye him loueth so tendrely

And hir serueth so gentilly
That was ther no word hem bitwene
Of Ialousye or any other tene
Thus endeth palamon and Emelye
And god saue al this faire compaignye.
