Sche blysseth hire & with ful pitous voys
On to the Croys of cist thus seyde sche
O cler o wilful auter holy cros
Reed of the lambis blod ful of pite

That day þt I schal drenchȳ in þe deepe
Victorious tre protexioū of trewe
That only worthy were for to bere

The white lomb that hurt was wyt a spere
Flemere of feendis out of hȳ & hire
On which thȳ lyfis feythfully extenden
Me kep & ȝif me myȝt mȳ lyf to a menden

Torw out the strem of grece in to strayte
Of marrok whiche that was hese auenture
On manye a sory Mel now may ȝe beyte
Aftyr hire deth ful ofte may sche wayte

Vn to the place there sche schal a ryue
Men myȝtyn axsyn whi sche was not slayn
Ek at the feste ho myȝte hire body saue
And I answere to that demaūde a gayn

There euery with saue he maystyr & knave
Was with the lyoū frete er he a sterte
Non wigh but god þt he bar in hese herte
God lyste to schewe his wondyrful merakele

Be serteyn mene oftȳ as knowyn klerkes
Doth thyng to serteyn ende þt ful derk is
