And forthermore this shol ye swere that ye

Agayn my choys shul neuer grocche ne stryue
For syn I shal forgo my libertee
At your requeste as euer mote I thryue
There as myn hert is set there wol I wyue
And but ye wold assent in swich manere

I prey yow speke no more of this Matere
With hertly wil thei sworen and assenten
To al this thing ther seyde no wyght nay
Bisekyng him of grace or that thei wenten
That he wolde graunten hem a certeyn day

Of his spousaille as sone as euer he may
For yit alwaye the peple som what dredde
Lest that the Marquys no wif wold wedde
He graunted hem a day swich as him leste
On which he wol be wedded sykerly

And seyde he did al this atte hir requeste
And thei wyth humble entente ful buxumly
Knelyng vpon hir knees ful reuerently
Him thanken alle and thus thei han and ende
Of hir entent and hoom ageyn thei wende

Commaundeth for the fest to purueye
And to his piuey knyghtes and squyers
Suche charge yaf as him list on hem to leye
And thei to his commaundement obeye

Naught fer fro thilke paleys honurable
Where as this Marquys shoop his mariage
Ther stood a throop of site delitable
