Is comen hoom / to Atthenes his Citee
With alle blisse / and greet solempnytee
Al be it þt this auenture was falle
He nolde noght disconforten hem alle

¶ Men seyde eek Arcite / shal nat dye
He shal been heelyd / of his maladye
And of another thyng they were as fayn
That of hem alle / was ther noon yslayn
Al were they soore yhurt and namely oon

That wt a Spere / was thirled the brest boon
¶ To oothere woundes / and to broken armes
Sōme hadden salues / and sōme hadden charmes
Fermacyes of herbes / and eek saue
They dronken / for they wolde hir lymes haue

For which this noble duc / as he wel kan
Conforteth / and honoureth euery man
And made reuel / al the longe nyght
Vn to the straunge lordes / as was right
